New Dolly 2

Here she is again! She is done... a full head of hair and her heart is in place. I signed her as well. She is Amy and is for Olivia. She is getting some clothes but Olivia's Mom thinks a nighty will be in order as Olivia is reaching her first bday soon.

Stitchin' Fun 2

The four braids are complete! Last night I cut for the three smaller braids that go between these four braids. You are seeing them folded and on the floor. It is easier to see them on the wall ... but I cannot get to the wall to hang them. That will happen when I get the 3 smaller braids for the "sashing" parts of this lovely French Braid quilt.

Stitching fun!

Yesterday I finished the second of the 4 main braids for a French Braid quilt from the book French Braid Quilts by Jane Hardy Miller with Arlene Netten. My inspiration is coming from the one on page 54. I have the 4 main braids cut and two are sewed. These are pics to give you an idea of the look. It is an 80 by 90 inch kind of design with narrower braids between these. To me they will look like a forest of trees. The brown represents tree trunks.

My Pepper

I thought I would share one of my favorite pets! We got him about 2 years ago and he has grown into a lovely kitty. He was raised by my friend Sue. He is a handsome boy and plays with my fabrics when they are on the floor for a pattern check. In this pic he is actually trying to get into the quilt... It is a Minnisota Hot Dish pattern.

More Jane Blocks

These are already stitched together.... the only two I have put together so far. They are A1 and A2. I am using my stash and fabrics I have recieved from other Janes in my blocks for my first Jane.... still no name for my baby yet! These blocks are all hand pieced and appliqued. It is a very portable project. Since I have retired... I am actually getting to sew about every day again.

My First Dear Jane...

Dear Jane
Today seems to be the day. I have scanned a couple of blocks and am going to post them here. I made them in 1999... among the first blocks for me to stitch. The fabrics are from my stash and the pink is used in Kyle and Kathy's wedding quilt. The purple of C-5 is a piece that I liked in my stash. The 3rd and 4th blocks I am posting.... A-1 and A-2 ... these block were finished in 1999 as well. The fabrics are also from my stash and each are reproductions...but I don't know from where.
